A super easy autumn dessert.

Ingredients

  • 6 pears

  • ½ cup Chelsea Dark Cane

  • Sugar (100g)

  • 60g butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Optional (To serve)

  • Ice cream or thickened cream

  • Toasted sliced almonds

Method

  1. Quarter pears. You can also peel them and remove stems and seeds, if desired.

  2. Melt Tararua Butter in a large frying pan on medium heat. When butter is melted and bubbling, add pears. Cook for 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender.

  3. Sprinkle in the Chelsea Dark Cane Sugar and cook for a further 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in vanilla and cinnamon.

  4. Spoon pears onto serving plates or bowls. Whisk remaining sauce to combine well and drizzle over pears.

  5. Serve with ice cream or thickened cream and sprinkle with toasted almonds, if desired.
